Report on Halberd Corporation

Report on Halberd Corporation

Halberd Corporation (HALB) is a development stage company, providing a web portal for interested parties to find, buy and sell businesses, real estate, and equipment, as well as all the related services needed to support the transaction, including financing, incorporation, professional help and additional business resources.
The company´s operations are conducted under the website „Sellmybusiness.com“. Sellmybusiness.com should support businesses of all sizes and types, including start-ups, well-established companies, multinational public corporations and franchises.
In February 2012, Advanced Defense Technologies, Inc. announced that it has signed a joint venture with Halberd Corp to build next generation drones and UAVs.
The company has competition in it´s market by BizBuySells.com, BizQuest.com and many more.

Analysis:

Halberd is currently (Nov. 29th 2014) valued at $0.007 per share. It´s 52 week low is at $0.0015 and    it´s 52 week high at $0.02 on an average volume of 2.12M.

Recent events of this company show great potential. On October 23 Halberd announced a definitive agreement with Gear International of Washington, Inc. The contract is part of a financing transaction for fixed payments from two different licensed medicinal marijuana farming operations. These farms are currently operating and with Halberd´s financing will be able to expand and to be able to produce at a higher rate. Revenue streams from this operation will commence in approximately 6-8 months.
This entry in the green market shows the ability of Halberd to continue its growth as a diverse holding company.

Another positive development of this company is their subsidiary I-Tap, Inc. On Oct 06, 2014, I-Tap announced that Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) has scheduled a test of the I-Tap beer dispensing system at their research and development draught room in St. Louis. I-Tap currently has a robust sales pipeline with approx $150 million in potential gross sales.

These recent developments does make HALB a potential breakout, but you have to be carefull. HALB is operating in a fast moving industry with a lot of competitors. There is high risk in this penny stock, so I wouldn´t recommend a long term position in this stock, if you´re not paying close attention.
But for every daytrader or risk-averse Trader this stock is a must watch. So better put it on your watchlist. On Nov 19, 2014 they hired Zwick & Banyai, PLLC to audit the company. The audit should start mid-December.
CEO John C Maddox told the press: „We are continuing to move forward with our business plan, which we believe can and will be great for all of our loyal shareholders. Becoming fully reporting and moving back to the OTC Markets Bulletin Board will give Halberd access to better funding and financing opportunities.“
With these news and the hype this stock is currently getting on Twitter and the Marijuana Market the average movement of this stock could rapidly go up and this makes this stock to a volatile opportunity to make some money with the risk of losing it all.

Stock Market Lesson #3

Stock Market Lesson #3

Technical indicators:

Todays lesson is explained best with an example. Let´s try it with a stock named Energous Corp (WATT). All these analysis can be done with Yahoo Finance so you can all do it with me.

Now you can add some indicators to the graph.
For example the Simple Moving Average for 21 Days (blue) and the SMA for 50 days (red).
To understand what this means you have to know that the wider the real share price is to the SMA the higher is the possibility of a market correction. So to consider a long position in a stock it might be better if the market price is currently under the SMA(21).
But this method is not really efficient because you would get to many false signals. Because of that we now ad the 50 day SMA.
Now you can get into a long position when the SMA21 (blue) crosses the SMA50 (red) upwards you´re going long and if the SMA 21 crosses the SMA50 downwards you´re going short or close your long position.
It maybe easier to understand by looking at this picture.

What you can see here this method works perfectly in a trend but does not really help in a fluctuating market. This means you´ll need another filter, for example the SMA90 or you use another indicator for sideways markets.

To make better forecasts we now use the Relative Strength Index (RSI) for the periode of 10. This indicator will be shown under the chart.

This methode is not really suitable for trends because there is nearly no possible entry point.

Analysis Aware Inc.

AWARE INC.

Aware Inc (AWRE) is a leading provider of software and services to the biometrics industry. The software products are used in government and commercial biometrics system, which are capable of determining or verifying an individual´s identity. The principal applications of biometrics sytems include border control, law enforcement, national defense, secure credentialing, access control and background checks.

The biometrics industry may be segmented into government and commercial sub-markets, with Aware generating 80% of its revenue from governmental customers.

Right now the biometric industry could become very important. With new ways to pay like Apple Pay coming to the market the convenience and security of the biometric market will be needed. This movement is also seen in Aware Inc. They are ramping up their R&D sector to profit from this growth.
This small cap stock looks like it could become a really big player soon. Some funds of Investment gurus are already invested, like Renaissance Technologies by Jim Simons. (to the source )
Earlier this year Aware paid a $1.75 special dividend because of the concerning risk of making acquisitions, which indicates a good operating by the management, who know that an unwise purchase could have reduced shareholder returns.

Due to high competition in this sector this stock is not a safe bet, but has a lot of potential with little downside risk because AWRE has approximately 50% of the company´s stock price in cash and investments, without calculating in the pattents. A normal price target for next year could be around $8.

Summary:

With the drought coverage on „60 minutes“ and a positive political movement towards a better water supply, Cadiz Inc is ranked as a strong Buy.
The shorts are currently fading away which could lead to a quick rise of this stock.

Analysis: Nuvilex Inc (NVLX)

Report on Nuvilex

Nuvilex (NVLX) is a company that caught my eye about 8 month ago.
At first glance, my reaction was skeptic, why should I be bothered with a microcap transformational/developmental stage biotech company with downright scary financials. After doing my research and reading all the articles I could find I started to realize why I, and maybe you should care about this company, regardless of it being a volatile microcap OTC penny stock.

NVLX is much like other microcap bio stocks, insofar as it´s essentially impossible to value with any degree of certainty. So for this analysis I try to give you a better insight to understand where the company is and where it´s going.

What the firm is offering:

The real potential cash cow for Nuvilex is in the biotech/healthcare arena. Their trademarked Cell-in-a-Box technology is their priced possession which could lead to a big deal with a giant Biotech Company or their start on commercialising cancer treatment.
Nuvilex is working towards improving the quality of life for patients with andvanced pancreatic cancer and on treatments for other types of cancer using the Cell-in-a-box technology. In addition, Nuvilex is developing cancer treatments based upon chemical constituents of Cannabis, known as cannabinoids. To do so, Nuvilex is ecamining ways to exploit the benefits of the Cell-in-a-box technology in optimizing the anticancer effectiveness of cannabinoids, while minimizing or outright eliminating the debilitating side effects usually associated with cancer treatments. This provides Nuvilex a unique opportunity to develop „green“ approaches to fighting deadly cancers, such as those of the pancreas, brain and breast, which affect hundreds of thousands of individuals worldwide every year. In terms of time to market, the technology has been through studies and phase I/II trials in Germany and has shown impressive results, although more and larger studies are still needed before commercialization/monetization

Some people think NVLX makes for an obvious (and cheap) acquisition target/licensing partner by/with a larger biotech firm. I’m not going to speculate on that, although both are definite possibilities. More to the point, if you think, as I’m inclined to do, that stem cells and cell therapy are the next big things in medical technology and disease treatment, Nuvilex should get your juices flowing.

This technology is also used for their diabetes research.
Nuvilex has obtained exclusive worldwide rights to use human insulin-producing cells. The exploration was conducted by UTS´Professor Ann Simpson, who sought to activate liver cells to replace cells in the pancreas that fail to produce insulin in people with type 1 diabetes.
Nuvilex´s goal is to encapsulate Melligen cells and test them on animals with diabetes to see if insulin can be produced on demand.
According to the International Diabetes Federation, approximately 400 million people worldwide are living with diabetes with that number expected to grow to 552 million people by 2030. The global market for diabetes treatments is approximately $500 billion.

NVLX has recently announced several positiv developments, including moving closer to „bio-artificial Pancreas“ diabetes treatment, adding a new Chief Scientific Officer who co-developed the company´s Cell-in-a-box proprietary platform, and reporting financial results for the period ended July 31, 2014. These positive announcements were somewhat mitigated by the recent announcement of changes in the company´s management, including resignations of the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Scientific Officer, and two members of the company´s Board of Directors.

Finacial Position:
  • cash: $2.89 million
  • current assets: $3.06 million
  • total assets: $8.19 million
  • current and total liabilities: $371,386
  • revenues: $0
  • quarterly net loss: $1.58 million

The fundamental longer term outlook for NVLX appears relatively solid, with approximately $2.9 milion of cash on hand, the potential for obtaining orphan drug status, and positiv licensing and contract developments. On a near term basis the stock hast moved sideways and appears to be establishing a higher base with several technical indicators turning postive:

Relative Strength Index (RSI): The momentum oscillator is nearing the upper band of 70. The stock broke above the centerline on October 13th and the move in the oscillator confirms the stock´s positive recent momentum.

The stock´s 50-day Moving Average crossed below the 200-day Moving Average in mid September, and at $0.22.5 remains below the 200-day MA of $0.267. The moving averages have not confirmed the recent positive action in the stock.

Bollinger Bands (BB) – The stock broke above the middle of it´s Bollinger Bands on October 13th and has remained at or above the upper Bollinger Band since that time, confirming recent positive price action.

Moving Average Convergence/Divergence Oscillator: The 12-day MA of this momentum indicator crossed above the 26-day MA on October 6th and the positive divergence between these MACD lines has continued.

Moving Average Convergence/Divergence Histogram: TheMACD sitting above its signal line at the 0.007 level.

Competition. While Nuvilex appears to be on the cutting edge, cell encapsulation is not a brand new or unique idea, and as such, others may bring similar products to market faster than Nuvilex. The competition in natural products is incredible, so any success the firm gains with those products will be constrained accordingly.

Summary & Conclusion:

The stock has broken out of its early fall slump on good volume. (three-month average daily volume of approx 1.8 million shares) Smaller traders could profit from trading the stock´s intraday price movements and continued moves above the $0.25 level. Larger position could be initiated at these levels, with more risk adverse investors waiting until the stock breaks above resistance level at $0.25 to $0.26 per share.
Nuvilex is currently held by Ken Fisher of Fisher Asset Management. He is the son of the legendary investor Phillip A Fisher. The investment philosophy at Fisher Investments is based on the idea that supply and demand of securities is the sole determinate of their pricing. The way to add value is to identify information not widely known or to interpret widely known information differently and correctly from other market participants. He purchased 11,300 shares in the first quarter of 2013, the same quarter that the subsidiary Medical Marijuana Sciences, Inc was incorporated. His purchase was a very small one that amounted to about $500 at the time. Today it is valued at about $3000. Even though it was a small purchase, it helps bring some credibility to the company and helps separate it from the possible scams.
In the long run this stock is an investment where you can lose 100%, but with good news from the FDA and other Orphan Drug Status Applications (Dec 9-13 answer from EMU, End of January status on FDA Orphan drug approval) you can easily make a lot more.

Preview: Analysis of Nuvilex Inc. :

Company Describtion:

Nuvilex is a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on developing and preparing to commercialize treatments for cancer and diabetes based upon a proprietary cellulose-based live cell encapsulation technology known as Cell-in-a-Box. This unique and patented technology will be used as a platform upon which treatments for several types of cancer, including advanced, inoperable pancreatic cancer, and diabetes are being built. Nuvilex's treatment for pancreatic cancer involves the widely used anticancer prodrug ifosfamide, together with encapsulated live cells, which convert ifosfamide into its active or "cancer-killing" form. Nuvilex is also working towards clinical trials associated with the symptoms of advanced pancreatic cancer and other abdominal cancers.

Nuvilex's subsidiary, Medical Marijuana Sciences, is dedicated to the development of cancer treatments based upon chemical constituents of the Cannabis plant known as cannabinoids. To do so, it will examine ways to exploit the benefits of Cell-in-a-Box technology in optimizing the anticancer effectiveness of cannabinoids against cancers while minimizing or eliminating the debilitating side effects usually associated with traditional cancer treatments. This provides Medical Marijuana Sciences a unique opportunity to develop "green" approaches to fighting deadly cancers, such as those of the pancreas, brain, breast and prostate, that affect hundreds of thousands of individuals worldwide every year.
